Regimental Trust

The Regimental Trust of the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada (RHFC) is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting RHFC soldiers. Contributions from friends like you, including current and former unit soldiers, directly support our ongoing Trust Support Programmes including:

Providing interest free loans to service members to help them through difficult times until they are financially secure;
Funding educational bursaries that assist deserving unit soldiers in furthering their education;
Equipping the Regimental Pipes and Drums – enabling them to participate in local community parades and events – including the Oktoberfest and Remembrance Day parades;
Fostering confidence, teamwork, self-worth, and self-discipline in our youth, by forming and supporting a pipe band school for Cambridge and K-W cadets;
Supporting the development of museum display cases to showcase our historical artifacts throughout our armouries; and
Supporting our belief that reserve soldiers need to improve their opportunities in establishing a stable, civilian career outside the Canadian Armed Forces.

Early History of the Regiment

The Militia of Waterloo County, 1812-1914

We’re excited to announce our latest project, the publishing of Volume II of the early history of our Regiment. “Defence not Defiance: The Militia of Waterloo County, 1812-1914”, authored by Maj(Ret) Len Curchin, Professor Emeritus at the University of Waterloo and a Regimental alumnus.

Commemorating the service of Waterloo Region's Afghanistan Veterans

LAV III Monument

Support for the Regimental Trust helped bring Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) Monuments to Cambridge and Kitchener to commemorate the service of Waterloo Region’s newest veterans – part of the 40,000 young Canadians that served in Afghanistan and the 159 who died during Canada’s 12-year commitment there.

Museum Project

RHFC Museum

Volunteers from former RHFC soldiers and Regimental Council members documented previously uncatalogued Regimental history artifacts, enabling their curation and preservation. Serving RHFC soldiers then assisted in creating dedicated Museum display spaces to showcase these items.
