The May 2026 Tartan Patch Issue 5 has:

  • An essay submitted by “Old Guard” Derek Wildfong on what in, his view it means to be an Old Guard. A view
    that is no doubt shared by many members of our Association and the Regiment.
  • Details of the Change of Stick Parade that included a Change of Pipe Majors, a couple of promotions, a Citation
    and a clasp to a CD was presented.
  • A very interesting story about a historical artifact that was found in the RHFC museum collection that was
    repatriated to its rightful benefactors. Take note of the remarkable information identifying the artifact.
  • A report from our White Hackle Council highlighting the very successful 2026 Elegance at the Armoury Highland
    Ball, the Council’s annual Gala event to raise funds to support the Regiment and its soldiers.
  • A report from Honourary Colonel Jane Klugman, who continues to be very active in the local community and
    beyond, promoting the Regiment and its soldiers and
  • A report from RHFC Commanding Officer LCol Jason Robinson CD, detailing recent and upcoming Regimental
    activities.

Tartan Patch Newsletter – September 2026

The September 2026 issue of the Tartan Patch looks back at Exercise Arrowhead Guardian 2026 in Grayling, Michigan, where 83 RHFC soldiers joined 70 Lincoln and Welland soldiers to form a 153-member Tactical Grouping — the largest troop presence at the exercise. The issue also highlights recent mortar and infantry training, including the Rank Qualification Infantry Private (RQIP) course and graduation parade, an Infantry Section Commanders Course graduation, and several promotions.

Also featured are an interesting historical discovery about the 1st Armoury in Galt, updates from the Honorary Colonel and Commanding Officer, and plenty of photos showcasing another busy training year for the Regiment.
